Anyone can take a phone call and enter data into a computer. But America\u2019s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW) customer service representatives (CSRs) are different, according to APHW CSR Supervisor Patty. \u201cWe aim to be heroes for our homeowners and REALTORS\u00ae,\u201d she said. \u201cWe care \u2014 and that\u2019s what we\u2019re best at.\u201d<\/p>\n
It all starts with the family-style atmosphere, which is visibly apparent throughout the home warranty company. \u201cWe have absolute support from all around,\u201d Patty said. \u201cNormally you might be intimidated to go speak to the president or VP of a company, but that\u2019s not the way here. They welcome you, and they want to help you be the best you can be.\u201d<\/p>\n
This support extends sideways as well. \u201cI can ask other CSRs, a supervisor\u2014we\u2019re really just like a family,\u201d said CSR Nelson, who previously worked at a restaurant claiming the same, but with no follow-through. \u201cNobody really cared about anybody there,\u201d he said. \u201cAt APHW it\u2019s totally different. When I was brand new, Unique sat nearby and asked every day how it\u2019s going, and how my wife is doing down in Cuba. You just feel it here.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe camaraderie amongst CSRs and everybody in the company here is crazy,\u201d Patty said. \u201cWe all help each other to be better, because we care.\u201d<\/p>\n
That mentality directly translates to what APHW customers experience on the phones. \u201cI never feel alone on a call. I always have team members to help me,\u201d said Customer Service Support Team Member LaShonda. \u201cAnd this isn\u2019t a job where you could ever just get your daily agenda and go work alone\u2014there are questions every day. My team is here to help, and it feels really good to let our customers know they don\u2019t have to worry about a repair themselves, because we\u2019re here to help them, too.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe get a lot of very positive feedback from our homeowners and the technicians speaking to us,\u201d Patty said. \u201cAnd we\u2019re very proud of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
